The Coolhunter.
‘Anyone who has ever attempted to master various forms of visual art will attest that watercolour painting usually turns out to be one of the most challenging. This has not discouraged Cate Parr, a UK-born fashion illustrator, who has managed to capture the ethereal, fleeting and vulnerable qualities of fashion imagery in her watercolours.
There is a dreamy, beautiful undertone, yet the images are not entirely virginal. A darker undertone, beneath the pastelly beauty demands the viewer to look closer, a quality we admire in any image-maker’s work. In today’s world of a million images a second, it takes a lot to make any of us stop and pause and really see’. The Coolhunter Tuija Seipell

INTERVIEW - FRANKY SELECTOR: UNA QUIETE DI SOLE E GOOD VIBES | INTERVISTA
Interviewer: This cover is beautiful. Let's start here: in a sense remembers the three Graces. What is he talking about?
Franky: The album cover is a painting by the extraordinary British artist Cate Parr; there is even a fourth woman on the back! I like to think of them as the Muses who contributed to the inspiration for this album.

The cate’s out of the bag.
Pools of color, swirls of joy are just a small part of Cate Parr’s trippy universe. Parr is known for her imaginative eye for color and deft use of negative space. With each painting, Parr creates an intriguing dichotomy that you can’t turn away from — precise, detailed brushstrokes work in tandem with clouds of colors that pool so perfectly you have to wonder if there isn’t some sort of magic afoot here.
